China is offering scholarships to 1000 Pakistani students for a one-year vocational training program that will kickstart in China in November 2018.
The CPEC Cultural Communication Centre (CCC) is providing scholarships to Pakistani students under its scheme of Talent Corridor. Director General, CPEC CCC and CEO of St Xianglin Management and Consulting Company, Echo Lee while talking to Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) shared about the program,
“The students to be selected from across the country will be provided free tuition and dormitory during the training at different universities and institutes in China.”
Lee said The CPEC CCC is based in China’s Suzhou Vocational University. It has world-class facilities and skilled faculty that imparts focused research and vocational training to students. The University offers Sino-Pak Students Exchange Program, academic research and seminars, vocational education, and organises Chinese culture experience camp and teachers exchange.
Talking in detail about scholarship scheme, she said it is a three level programme and the students will be taught outer space and high-speed train technology during the first level. In the middle level, the participants will gain knowledge of hydropower and solar energy engineering. Lastly, the students selected for the lowest level will get training for operating different machines and types of equipment including excavation machines and caterpillar etc.
Lee further added that this year, 1,000 students will be offered 20 majors from a high level to the lower level classes. This is a major increase from 100 scholarships in six majors last year.
Lee shared the plans that these Chinese vocational education centres, as well as educational parks, would be established in Pakistan. She said her organization CPEC CCC intends to donate training equipment and looking to foster partnerships with Pakistani institutions which are interested to receive them.
