ChatGPT Now Available on Windows

Windows users can now enjoy ChatGPT.The AI-powered chatbot platform ChatGPT has a dedicated windows client, according to OpenAI’s announcement today.

According to OpenAI, the software is still in its early stages, with plans to roll out a “full experience” later this year. Currently, it is available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu customers, offering them early access to the innovative platform.

OpenAI writes, “With the official ChatGPT desktop app, you can chat about files and photos.”“This app brings you the newest model improvements from OpenAI, including access to OpenAI o1-preview, our newest and smartest model.”

Though it may not have all the features of other ChatGPT clients just yet, the Windows program should be able to run on the vast majority of Windows 10 PCs. It currently does not support voice, including Advanced Voice Mode, and various connections with OpenAI’s GPT Store are not operational.

With the Windows version of ChatGPT, you can do the same thing as with the macOS version: minimize it to a small “companion” window and keep it open alongside other applications. It can summarise documents, make images using OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 image generator, and process uploaded files and photos.
