Changan Lumin EV Ready for Big Reveal at Pakistan Auto Show 2024

Changan Pakistan is getting ready to unveil its highly anticipated mini-EV, the Lumin, during the Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS) 2024. The company recently teased the release of this all-electric small car, which created a lot of buzz in the auto world.

Changan Lumin is set to arrive in Pakistan soon

Changan has been teasing the reveal of this two-door EV, which has been creating excitement among car enthusiasts in Pakistan, just a short time after launching its premium EV sub-brand Deepal.

The mini-EV became famous in China after it was released in June 2022. Its unique, rounded shape, small size, and low price made it appealing to many people.

Additionally, the local automobile company is about to go through an exciting change because other companies in the same field have started using new technology.

Features of Lumin Mini-EV

Engine & Performance

With a focus on efficiency and convenience, Changan has created the Lumin mini-EV, an electric vehicle (EV) that is ideal for city driving. The Lumin is compatible with three distinct LFP battery types:

  • 12.92 kWh: 155-kilometer range.
  • 17.5 kWh: 210 km of range.
  • 27.99 kWh: Up to 301 km longer range.

The Lumin is powered by a single front-wheel-drive electric motor that makes 30 kW (41 hp). A more powerful 35 kW (48 hp) motor is also available. Even though these numbers may not seem impressive, they’re great for city driving and make sure that the Lumin is quick and energy-efficient on the city’s busy streets.

Exterior design

Changan’s Lumin Corn EV has a smooth, rounded look that was made with both style and functionality in mind. Important exterior features are:

  • Circular LED lights: Adding something new to the car’s charm.
  • Pull-out door handles: This gives it a sleek and modern look.
  • Wheel covers with aerodynamics: Streamlining operations and improving performance.

The Lumin Corn is small enough to easily move through tight city areas. Its dimensions are 3270 mm (L) x 1700 mm (W) x 1545 mm (H), and its wheelbase is 1980 mm.

Interior Features

When you get inside the Lumin Corn, you’ll find a cabin that’s surprisingly roomy and high-tech, made for comfort and ease of use:

  • Floating 10.25-inch touchscreen: It has easy-to-use navigation, phone connections, music, radio, and the ability to drive itself.
  • Rotary gear shifter: It enables easy and seamless mode selection when driving.
  • Eco and sport driving modes: Give drivers the choice to pick between features that reduce fuel consumption and those that increase speed.

The seats are upholstered in nice fabric, and even though they have to be adjusted by hand, they make the ride comfortable for getting around town. The Lumin has ISOfix points for attaching child seats, which makes it a good choice for families.

Additionally, the Lumin has a 104-liter trunk area when the second-row seats are folded down. This is great for small trips to the store or carrying luggage.

Although there are currently other reasonably priced electric models available, such as the Honri Ve from Dewan Motors, the Lumin from Changan is expected to drive the expansion of the electric vehicle segment in Pakistan and provide more options for environmentally aware consumers.
