KARACHI: Capital Valley, the world’s first online entrepreneurial & philanthropic ecosystem, has been recognized as Role Model-2014 for Entrepreneurs in Pakistan. The title was presented this week at the prestigious Shell Tameer Young Entrepreneurs Award 2014.
Capital Valley is an emerging tech startup located at DotZero, an incubator and shared office space in Karachi. The startup aims to solve funding, mentoring, and specialized networking problems of entrepreneurs and fund seekers in Pakistan. Through Capital Valley, the team envisions a Pakistan where entrepreneurs & fund seekers are connected with human and financial capital to achieve their dreams.
‘We are deeply humbled by the opportunity Shell Tameer has provided us with. Such initiatives are a rarity and it is highly encouraging to see a positive shift towards cultivating enterprise’, said founder and CEO of Capital Valley, Baqar Abbas Jafri. He went on to thank DotZero, the co-working space where the team operates from, recognizing their constant support as one of the major reasons why Capital Valley has gone through rapid development.
Pakistan is home to around 15 million young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas but they don’t have affordable financing, expert mentoring, and a support ecosystem to realize their dreams. Although, stakeholders in entrepreneurial ecosystem have made efforts in their capacity, but there is a need to bring them on single platform to harness collective wisdom through a more connected community. Hopefully, people who have been waiting for this kind of opportunity to rise can now look to this platform for the support that they might need to give themselves a start in the right direction.
