Bramerz celebrates Mashable’s Social Media Day in Pakistan

Bramerz, a digital media agency based out of Lahore, organized Mashable Social Media Day meetup at LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship to celebrate the vibrant digital community of Pakistan.

The hip event remained crowded with social media addicts, selfie enthusiasts and trendsetters from the local digital media community. In addition to that, a massive number of startups also participated to socialize and get in touch with the key influencers.

Junaid Malik, COO of Bramerz while talking to TechJuice said that,

“There is too much negativity on social media these days, there is a need, more than ever, to promote positivity and nationalism. The whole point of arranging such an event is to send positive vibes out there.”

He also hinted that Bramerz is planning to work on a project by taking all the Digital Media organizations and key stakeholders on board. The details about the project will be shared in the upcoming days.

According to a social media report released in 2014, Pakistan has a whopping 13 million active users on Facebook, majority of which are male youngsters in the age bracket of 18 – 34 years. In the past couple of years, we have seen a major shift in marketing budgets being spent on social media by different brands; Facebook, holds the crown for the most used platform in Pakistan and it remains the number 1 choice for small and large brands for user acquisition. Bramerz being a digital media agency understands that quite well. That is why they grabbed the opportunity to be the flag bearer for organizing such an event in Pakistan.

Although, there was no major agenda of the event, it was more like a meetup where attendees were free to discuss anything with each other and simultaneously voice their opinions on social media coupled with a poster design competition to portray positive side of Pakistan through usage of Social Media.

Bramerz might get full points for clutching an opportunity and creating a buzz around it, which will help them in the long run. Considering the fact that the event was being celebrated in Pakistan, the absence of any presentation on key statistics or facts regarding social media on this particular day made the event a bit meaningless. A quick presentation on role of social media in the country could have added more value and substance to the event. Nevertheless, we hope more events like these continue to happen in Pakistan where we see other digital media agencies on board as well.

Let’s have a quick glance at the event through pictures.
