Bill Gates offers $10 million to those who can solve world’s challenges

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is known for its notable tasks and its struggle to eradicate poverty, improve education and more. The Foundation has teamed up with the MiSK Foundation, which was founded by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and is offering $10 million to anyone who can solve or help to solve the world challenges including the health, education, poverty, and more.

The partnership was announced on Tuesday between the MiSK Foundation and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and both foundations announced the “MiSK Grand Challenges” initiative to help solve the world problems. They will launch a series of grand challenges over the period of three years.

The challenges will be launched around 2 topics. The first topic is related to education in which they are looking for the “innovative solutions to challenges facing education systems.” And the 2nd topic is related to the global citizenship in which both organizations are looking for ideas to help deliver on the “Global Goals for Sustainable Development” and to make sure that everyone has access to clean water.

The ideas must be submitted around these two themes. The initiative will fund 100 “innovators” with $100,000 each for their ideas. Once the innovators get the fundings, they will have access to experts and key people to help them turn their idea into reality. If the idea is beneficial enough, they’ll be able to apply for further funding. Which means that anyone with an idea and passion to solve world problems will not have to spend a single penny from his own pocket.

Here’s what Bill Gates had to say about the grand challenges initiative.

“The MiSK Grand Challenges will incentivize more of the brightest minds around the world to find the best ideas to solve some of the toughest development challenges,”
