ASUS launches the World’s first smartphone with 8 GB of RAM and support for both Tango and DayDream

ASUS, the technology giant based out of Taiwan, has launched ZenFone AR smartphone that packs 8 GB of RAM during the ongoing CES 2017. The smartphone also supports the Google’s augmented reality program, Tango, as well as DayDream, the Google’s augmented reality program.

The phone has four cameras. Three cameras on the back are part of the TriCam system that ensures Tango functionality. Among the three back cameras is a 23 MegaPixel main rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and 4-axis optical image stabilization. Then there is a Motion-tracking camera and a depth measuring sensor.

The ASUS ZenFone AR has a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and is built upon Snapdragon 821. The phone will feature 6GB or 8GB of LP DDR4 RAM and 32/64/128/256 GB of UFS 2.0 storage. The smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat and will have microSD slot, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C support, and 3,300 mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

The smartphone ASUS ZenFone AR, along with ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom, will be launched in several variants. There hasn’t been any word on the prices and release dates of these smartphones.
