Arpatech launches Rava.pk, a video streaming website for Pakistan

Arpatech, a technology services company based out of Karachi, has today officially launched a video streaming website called Rava.Pk where users will be able to like, comment, share and submit videos.

After the blockage of YouTube in September 2012 in Pakistan, we have seen a flurry of video streaming websites with .pk domain extension coming out. Some of these websites have been copying and curating all the data from Youtube, thereby, making the blockage meaningless.

Rava.pk is the newest edition to the ever growing list of video streaming websites in Pakistan. We quickly checked out the website for its content. In a quick glance, TechJuice found out that the website is more like a video content curation platform where any user can submit any video for upload from any other platform. Which means the video already has to be uploaded somewhere else to be submitted at Rava.pk.

By the looks of it, the platform is in initial phases of development which is why the user interface looks a bit clumsy and website a bit too slow for our taste. Arpatech plans to bring innovation on Rava.pk and hopes to make it the next big online video streaming site providing access to content through a legal channel and mechanism. The site operates under the fair use guideline and is a non-revenue generating service.
