The National Incubation Center Karachi is all set to accept applications for its first incubation cycle, after announcings its operations in May.
The incubation center was inaugurated at NED University of Engineering and Technology. The center is a member of the series of National Incubation Centers that are being developed nationwide with the collaboration of Ministry of IT & Telecom and Ignite, Pakistan’s National ICT R&D Fund.
Like any other incubation program, NIC Karachi Summer 2018 Program is going to be a startup program offering mentorship along with investments to the entrepreneurs and startups who are selected for it. The incubation program is also going to source invaluable networking, business development opportunities and different digital resources to the startups.
Program Categories
Currently, National Incubation Center Karachi is offering three programs for startups. These programs have been developed keeping in view the stage of startups so that only startup-specific training/resource is provided for maximum impact.
- Hatchery – this category will act as a breeding ground for startups that are in early stage
- Accelerator – this category is for the startups in post-infancy that are now aiming at further growth
- Plus – this category caters to scaling startups that need capital for further growth
How to apply?
NIC Karachi is specifically looking for startups who have already demonstrated some work over their ideas. If you happen to be one such startup with founders having shown vision and grit, then this might be your time to rise and shine. The interested startups could fill in this form and get themselves registered. Once shortlisted, the startups would be invited to multiple open pitch days where they would present their ideas to the NIC team and startup growth experts.
NIC Karachi is going to open its pitch days starting June 23, 2018. On the first day, registrations for the startups will start at 2:00 pm and first 20 startups pitching their ideas starting 3:00 pm.
The project has been developed as a public-private partnership being led by Landmark Technologies (LMKT) in collaboration with PTCL, Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and NED University of Engineering & Technology.
