Let the hype begin! Apple has finally sent out its invites for its big event and it is to be held on September 9th, barely two weeks from now.
Apple holds an annual event in the fall of each year for its biggest launches, the iPhones! And it seems like it is finally time as the big unveiling is looming right over us. The Cupertino company has scheduled the event for Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, a venue known for having a large capacity of up to 7000. It’s going to be big!
Rumors have been going around for quite a while predicting a date of September for the tech giant’s next event and Apple just confirmed it by sending the invites. The invites themselves don’t really give anything away, but they do hint towards a focus on Apple’s intelligent little artificial intelligence assistant, Siri. Heroically famous for saving a life recently, Siri probably has a big part to play on the 9th of September as evident by the event’s tagline, “Hey Siri, give us a hint!”
Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were introduced on the same date last year, 9th September 2014, so they are due for their annual upgrade and are a must in this event. The iGiant usually makes major upgrades to its flagship iPhone only once every two years, and as last year’s version was a major upgrade over the 5S, we are expecting this year’s model to be called 6S and to probably get just minor upgrades. The Plus has also been a huge success so there is no reason for Apple to not introduce a new model. These new iPhones, whatever they are called, are going to come with iOS 9 on board and the new OS will also be released for older devices on the same day, as Apple usually does.
Apart from these major announcements, also expect Apple to unveil a new Apple TV, a new WatchOS and the final release of OS X 10.11.
