Last September, Apple unveiled its wireless charging accessory, the AirPower. AirPower is a one of its kind charging mat with the ability to charge 3 devices at any given time. As per Apple norms, the AirPower will only power up Apple devices. To be precise, users will be able to charge their iPhones, AirPods and Apple Watches on the same platform, i.e. the AirPower. Do note, however, that AirPod users will have to use the Wireless Charging Pod to utilize the AirPower.
In September’s launch event, Apple only gave a brief peek of the new gadget. Details of pricing and availability were not unveiled at the time, with Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing commenting that it will be available “sometime in 2018”.
Well, that time is apparently closed now. A report published by Macotakara has unveiled that the AirPower will be officially launched in the next month. The report states that Apple will utilize its own retail stores along with third-party resellers like BestBuy to deliver the product to its customers. However, to many dislikes, the report hasn’t specified an exact date, nor any details on product pricing.
It is to be noted that this is not the first report quoting a March release considering Apple Post predicted the same thing over 3 weeks back.
As for pricing, a Polish retailer has listed the AirPower on its site for roughly $200 since last November. Obviously, though, this is not credible since it could just be playing the guessing game. Nothing is certain till Apple officially unveils the product.
