Apple to abandon Touch Id in the upcoming iPhones

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued yet another note regarding the fate of Touch Id in smartphones. Kuo has said that Apple will be ditching Touch Id in the upcoming iPhones in favor of 3D sensing software used in Face Id. Initially, it was speculated that Apple might re-introduce Touch Id in the next iterations of iPhone. The decision was dependent on users of iPhone X and their feedback.

But the recent note of Kuo stresses that Apple will be bidding farewell to Touch Id and will be fully focussed on improving its 3D sensing technology for iPhones. The Face ID and its accuracy will give Apple an added advantage over its competitors and due to lack of finger print sensing, Apple will be able to design full screen iPhones in the future.

While it is expected that some Android phone manufacturers will be able to do in-screen fingerprint scanning but Apple will bet on Face ID. Which will differentiate between Android and Apple devices.

Kuo’s recent report also suggested that Apple is focussed on 3D sensing but the report also mentioned that Touch ID will stay around and it is going nowhere.

Face ID ever since the announcement of iPhone X has gone through extreme levels of scrutiny over the internet but since the consumers have yet to use the phones with Face ID, the jokes on the internet should be taken, well, as jokes only.

Meanwhile, check the expected price of iPhone X in Pakistan.
