Apple Rolls Out iOS 18.1 with New Apple Intelligence Features

During the 2024 iMac Announcement event on Monday, Apple unveiled the much-anticipated iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, featuring the powerful new Apple Intelligence.

This update revolutionizes everyday chores across all iPhones, from smart photo editing to more upgraded writing capabilities. After several months of beta testing, the stable launch, which includes a full suite of Apple Intelligence capabilities, is introduced to the public.

Additionally, this major update adds help with writing, editing photos, managing emails, and more. Using the built-in iOS UI, you can edit photographs, make text suggestions, and more—all without ever taking your phone out of your pocket.

Let’s examine the new features in iOS 18.1 and how users may begin using them.

What’s New in iOS 18.1 Apple Intelligence Features

Apple Intelligence is offered on all iPhone 16 models, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Tools for writing

The new writing agent will help all text-enabled apps that improve accuracy by checking your language and spelling and giving you the option to summarise what you’ve written. This important feature works well in email apps, software, document tools, and more. It speeds up the writing and draughting process so you can communicate more effectively.

A photo app

The long-awaited update to the photos app adds three great features: Memory Movie for making slideshows with prompts, natural language search, and clean-up for getting rid of people and objects. The app will let users look through their picture library and use search terms to find specific images.

Summaries of transcripts

The newest tool for summarizing will make it easy to make short versions of audio recordings from the Notes app and phone calls. This way, everyone can listen to long recordings again and remember the main points.

Enhancements to Siri

The first changes to Siri were made in iOS 18.1, and the full version 2.0 setup was made for iOS 18.4. The latest improvements, on the other hand, are all about fixing problems with the device, making contextual responses better, and more.

Mail updates

Along with the new features, the Cupertino-based tech giant has also released an update to the Mail app. This update adds instant response options, the ability to receive suggested steps for important emails, and more.

A New Era

iOS 18.1 also adds a number of improvements for people who own AirPods, such as an over-the-counter hearing aid feature that is allowed by the FDA for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.

People who own an iPhone 16 or 16 Pro will also be able to change the camera that starts Camera Control. There will be a new quick switch to the front TrueDepth Camera. With iOS 18, the Control Centre has been redesigned and now has more Power Centre choices.

iOS 18.1 also fixes a lot of bugs and makes all iPhones that work with iOS 18 more stable. For now, though, Apple Intelligence is the real star of the show. With the most recent update, Apple seems to be giving iPhone 15 Pro users and newer more attention.
