Apple has just rolled out iOS 10.2 updates for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users.
iOS 10 was released in October 2016 and since then Apple has rolled out the first update on Halloween and this is the second major update. The new update includes a TV app (for the US only), bug fixes, security improvements, new emoji, effects in messaging, easy shuffle for music, ‘Saved’ section for reading news stories later and others.
Emoji: Over 100 new and diverse emoji have been added including new faces like face palm, animals, professions, sports and professions. New celebration and full-screen effects have been introduced in messages.
Photos: Live Photos feature has been enhanced by faster deliver-rate and improved stabilization. Similar photos can now be grouped in ‘People Album’. The issues with zooming in on camera roll have also been fixed.
Music: Music feature is improved by introducing sorting and swipe option for ‘Now Playing’ screen, with the help of which users can easily Shuffle, Repeat or forward the songs.
News: News stories that users want to read later will appear in a new ‘Saved’ section. A separate section named ‘For You’ has been dedicated for the users who pay for the subscription. The browsing feature has been enhanced by simply swiping left or clicking on ‘Next Story’ while reading.
TV App: TV app will now let the users watch shows and movies and pick where they left off. It will also offer recommendations in ‘Watch Now’.
Bug Fixes: Other improvements include better Bluetooth performance, sorting Mails, HomeKit support, FaceTime and Voicemail fix and better Safari Browser.
The update will be available for iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later. Users are advised to create a backup first before installing the update.
