For the sixth year, Apple will host daily Hours of Code sessions at Apple Store locations in the U.S. The sessions will start from 1st December and end on 14th. The sessions are specifically meant for children in the age 6 to 12 who will be taught coding using robots whereas ages 12 and above attendees will Swift Playgrounds educational app for learning.
Hours of Code is just one of the many sessions which Apple hosts each year to teach coding and spread the importance of programming by specifically targetting youngsters. These programs are meant to teach inside and outside the classroom. Apple also introduced new material for teachers participating in the Computer Science Education Week as well as introduce a Swift Coding club kit for teachers and students that provides resources to start their own coding clubs at schools.
Apple also has plans to launch an Advanced Placement (AP) computer science course for high school students which will get them credits for learning Swift. There will also be a certification: App Development with Swift Level 1 – following the completion of their courses.
