Apple is expected to finally switch to AMOLED screens with the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus in 2017. The change is likely to be because the AMOLED displays allow for slimmer phone designs and improve back-light technology.
Previously, it was rumored that these AMOLED screens would be produced by the Japanese based company, Sharp. However, since Sharp is not expected to be able to fulfill Apple’s supply for the screens. Therefore, Apple has been seeking out other manufacturers for the product. LG has been rumored as one of them, and now, it is expected that Apple will likely contact Samsung regarding the matter.
We know that Samsung has been a user and a manufacturer of AMOLED screens for years now. It is now expected though that Apple’s changeover to AMOLED screens will be accommodated by Samsung as the South Korean multinational will be manufacturing the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S’ displays.
