One of the major design changes in the new iPhone 8 design was the glossy glass back. That was not a good news for a lot of people as they might break the glass back easily and it will cost them more money.
Well, the bad news turned into even worse when it was revealed today that the glass back will cost way more to repair than the front (more than 3 times). Under the Apple Care+, the front panel will cost $30 to repair and the back glass panel will come in “other damage” category and will cost $99 for both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
First of all, you must have an Apple Care+ subscription, then your phone will be qualified as repairable by Apple for 2 years. The Apple Care+ itself costs $129 for the iPhone 8 and $149 for the iPhone 8 Plus. The point is, don’t break your iPhone 8 glass back or repairing it will cost you as much money as a good Android phone costs.
And the Apple Care+ will cost you $29 for the screen and $99 for “other damage” for only two instances. After that, you’ll have to pay $349 for any damage for the iPhone 8 and $399 for the iPhone 8 Plus. So if you break the glass for the third time, replacing your iPhone with a new Android phone would be a better choice.
And there is no confirmation on how much the iPhone X screen will cost to repair. We can say that Apple will certainly charge more than the regular $30 for the screen replacement of iPhone X. As the screen is bigger and it will be limited in supply. Check out the expected price of iPhone X in Pakistan.
