Apple Intelligence to Support Additional Languages Starting April

Apple Intelligence is set to expand its language support, making its AI suite more accessible worldwide. Starting in April, it will support Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. Additionally, localized English versions will be available for users in India and Singapore.
The announcement was made by Apple CEO Tim Cook during Thursday’s Q4 2024 quarterly earnings call. Cook mentioned that support for these more languages will be available in April.
“Markets where we had rolled out Apple Intelligence during the [quarter] performed better on a year-over-year basis than markets where we had not…It’s a positive indicator that we were pleased with.” Cook told analysts during the same earnings call.
Apple Intelligence’s initial release last year was limited to the English language exclusively. Support for English in the Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South African, and United Kingdom localisations was later included in the December iOS 18.2 update. The launch of the company’s AI suite in the European Union and mainland China remains undisclosed.
Additionally, Cook mentioned that “over the next several months” Siri will be released with an updated version that can grasp the on-screen context.
