Apple has a hidden discount offer for iPhone

Apple is running a secret discount offer on iPhones for those looking to buying the devices on budget. Although the scheme has been going on for MacBooks for many years, the recent iPhones have just recently joined this program.

Buying a cheaper device from Apple won’t come without caveats. The devices included in this discount program are refurbished. Some readers may already be raising eyebrows over the word ‘refurbished’.

What is a refurbished product?

Refurbished products are usually known as ‘Opened Products’. Apple store’s website actually contains a dedicated section for buying such devices. By looking at the prices on the devices available in that section, you will find an average saving of over 100 US Dollars on most products. For example, refurbished iPhone 6S Plus is available for $529 instead of its regular price of $629. iPhone is a new addition in this section of the Apple store. This was previously reserved only for MacBooks and iPods. The reason of that might lie in the Apple exchange program.

Apple exchange program allows users to trade in their current iPhone for a newer model if they still have some mileage to go before their contract expires. So instead of stripping down the returned phones, Apple has now decided to recondition them and sell them to users for a lower price.

This is an interesting offer and provides those with tight budget to get their hands on the premium iPhone devices. Although Apple does not have any official presence in Pakistan and thus are not running this program locally, this offer might come handy if you plan to import an iPhone from a retailer or a relative.
