The first Android-powered clone of the iPhone X was launched a month ago and now we have another one by a Chinese manufacturer, Oukitel. It looks like the Android-powered smartphone’s makers have got great inspiration from the Cupertino based tech giant Apple’s iPhone X.
The first iPhone X clone dubbed Leagoo S9 copied both rounded corners and the top notch of iPhone X, while this upcoming phone of Oukitel U18 has a bit squared corners in its design and even the shape of the top notch isn’t matching with that of iPhone X’s. However, the thing that drives our attention is that this phone is manufactured by a mid-tier Chinese brand Oukitel.
Well, putting aside the design, Oukitel U18 is an Android-powered device. The device’s 5.5-inch and 1512×720 display don’t excite particularly. The phone will feature a 4GB of RAM which is a standard fare these days. With 64GB of internal storage, there’s plenty of room inside this device. However, the phone’s battery capacity isn’t great for many users i.e. 2,700mAH. The phone will go for large-scale production by the end of the month. According to an official statement by the company,
“At the first month of 2018, Oukitel is releasing a new smartphone Oukitel U18, of which is said to be next killer of Oukitel. It will feature iPhone X-like display design, but gets a new 21:9 aspect ratio, making it slimmer and more comfortable to hold in hand.”
China and some other emerging markets are specifically known as design-centric markets, where people mostly use the latest design of a premium manufacturer in the form a copied design, who can’t afford the real device or don’t want to pay that much for a phone.
