Android 8.0 Oreo update coming to Samsung phones in early 2018

Android Oreo was released a couple of months ago and it is already available for Pixel and Nexus devices. All other manufacturers are trying their best to bring the latest update to their smartphones and some of them are giving the timeframe when the update will be available on their devices.

According to the information posted on the official Samsung Turkey portal, the Oreo update will arrive for Samsung phones in the beginning of next year. Samsung did not give a time frame on which device will get the update, it just said that Samsung devices will get the Oreo update as soon as the new year starts.

It is very strange considering Samsung had already started working on the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 so we are not sure why Samsung is taking this much time to actually deliver the update. Moreover, as mentioned, Samsung has not made it clear that which device will get the update first but the Galaxy Note 8, S8 and S8 Plus are going to be among the first phones in the queue. Techjuice lets you check the upcoming Samsung mobiles along with the updated prices of phones in Pakistan.

Last year, Samsung updated their flagship devices to Android Nougat in the beginning of the year as well, so there is no progress in terms of how fast it could deliver the updates. On the other hand, Sony has already released the Android Oreo update for its Xperia XZ Premium even before Android One. This shows the commitment of Sony towards delivering the new updates to its customers.

Other manufacturers, including Samsung, should learn from Sony and we hope that one day, Android could be as good as Apple when it comes to supporting their phones where a 4 years old iPhone 5S is running the latest iOS 11.
