Android 15 Causes Issues for Google Pixel 6 Users

Google began rolling out Android 15, the latest version of its operating system, to eligible Pixel smartphones last week. However, some users are facing significant issues with this update. Many Pixel 6 owners have reported a critical problem: their phones have unexpectedly stopped responding or have become “bricked.”

Pixel 6 users report random bricking after the update

This problem seems to happen without a reason, but some users think it might have something to do with the Private Space feature. According to two Redditors, their Pixel 6 phones stopped working after turning on this feature. The problem may be more complicated, though, since another person says that their device bricked while it was being used normally.

According to all accounts of the Pixel 6 bricking problem, the devices are totally unusable, and standard troubleshooting methods have not worked. Although these are just a few cases right now, the problem is very severe. If you have a Pixel 6 and haven’t updated to Android 15, you should wait until Google comes up with a fix.

Rolling out to Motorola devices

Motorola is one of a few OEMs (original equipment makers) that has begun updating its smartphones to Android ahead of the typical suspects like Samsung.

Motorola has been slower than some of its rivals in the past to bring its phones up to date with the latest versions of Android. The situation is changing, though. The company said that most of the new Edge 50 devices will get important OS updates for five years, and these updates will be sent out immediately.

Some Edge 50 Fusion devices are now getting updates for Android 15 beta from Motorola. It’s likely that these beta updates will soon be sent to other Edge 50 types as well.
