An education-centered hackathon, Hacktivate, to happen at National Incubation Center Islamabad

Hacktivate, a hackathon for education is taking place in the National Incubation Center Islamabad on 28th and 29th of July. A hackathon is a marathon event wherein participants are tasked with the derivation of solutions for a set of issues. In this particular event, participants will be tasked with the derivation of solutions for problems faced in the field of education in Pakistan.

The National Incubation Center, in collaboration with Ilm Ideas 2 is bringing this event as part of their mission to connect Pakistan’s tech community with the leading institutions of the country. Indefinitely, their mission aims to counter the challenges faced in the field of education nationwide.

Hacktivate is a 48-hour challenge that will provide mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs and techies of the country. Leading experts from the tech and education industry will be present at the event for guiding the participants. Additionally, resources such as a formal working space will be provided to participants as a part of their grooming process as well.

The event is aimed at university level students along with young corporate members who have the vision to stand out from the herd and identify a dimension for change in the country. To further narrow down the target audience, the event aims to bring out people who are willing to work towards the implementation of this change and to make the vision, a reality.

The idea can fall under any of the following categories:

  • Provision Of Quality Education To Everyone
  • Assisted Learning for People With Disabilities
  • Increasing Learning Resources In The Country
  • Improving Skill Development programs and Introduction of Relevant Technologies
  • Other – this category covers any idea solving educational problems other than the above.

The winning team will be entitled to a spot in the National Incubation Center’s 4th cohort incubation session, which starts from September 2018. Additionally, the winning team can get access to Jazz’s XLR8 program as well, which will grant the team access to several resources including Jazz’s user base of more than 55 million users!
