Amazon reportedly testing bigger cashier-less stores in Seattle

Amazon is reportedly testing its Go cashier-less system on bigger stores in Seattle. Previously, the system had problems adjusting to space with a high ceiling but this recent rumor suggests that Amazon has found some turnarounds to make the system work there as well.

For those of you who are not familiar with Amazon Go, stores with Amazon Go will allow you to shop without cash or having to wait in long checkout lines. They are partially automated using latest technologies like computer vision, deep learning algorithms, and sensor fusion to make the process of retail smooth and less time-consuming. Customers have to download the Amazon Go app and when you select an item in the store, it is automatically added to your virtual cart in the app. As soon as you leave, the transaction occurs using your details in the app.

Deploying this tech in a bigger store is potentially problematic since it is still in testing phase, however, an unnamed source told CNET that Amazon is working to deploy the system in larger markets. Amazon said that it doesn’t comment on rumors and speculation when they were reached out by the same publisher.

When do you think cashier-less stores will make their debut in Pakistan?
