A recent poll conducted by SurveyMonkey and Recode indicated that 20 percent of the participants believe that Amazon has the most positive impact on society among major tech giants. Amazon was the highest of all companies listed and was followed by Google which was recently revealed to collect 10 times more user personal data the Facebook. There were also other tech giants on the list.
With advancements in technology, it has always had a positive impact on the society, in the long run, although it may be perceived negatively initially. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Apple have been at the cutting edge of technology and we have seen significant changes through their innovations in our daily lives. But which has had the most impact? Look at the list below.
The survey revealed that Amazon’s Jeff Bezos was ranked as the “most likely major tech CEO to have the greatest impact on people’s daily lives”, with 22 percent of the total votes in his favor. Google’s Sundar Pichai followed with 18 percent of the votes and once again, to our surprise since they are the company which sells our personal information to the highest bidder.
One of the most shocking observations was the number of votes Facebook received. Surprisingly Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the top three with 17 percent of the votes. Despite the recent Cambridge Analytica scandal of Facebook, which stirred an intense data privacy debate in the tech world. Facebook took the fourth spot behind Apple. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, did not make it to the top three as he had only 10 percent of the total votes. Elon Musk’s Tesla received only 6 percent of the votes. While other social media platforms like Twitter and Snap receive 1 percent votes each. 20 percent of the respondents did not mention any preference.
