Chinese billionaire and CEO of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, Jack Ma is starring in a kung fu movie alongside martial arts masters like Jet Li and Donnie Yen. The short film named “Gongshoudao,” which translates to “The Art of Attack and Defence” will promote traditional Chinese martial art Tai-chi.
The legendary entrepreneur Jack Ma is well known for his hard work and struggle in e-commerce industry to boost China’s economy. Jack Ma unveiled the movie’s poster on his account on Weibo (Chinese social media site), showing him surrounded by the other stars.
This is not the first time Ma has taken the internet by storm with his unusual talents. Masked behind a golden veil, earlier this year the Chinese e-commerce leader took the stage at the annual Alibaba convention to show some dance moves in Michael Jackson-style.
Regarding Jack Ma’s role in upcoming short film a spokesperson of Alibaba said,
“As a passionate Tai-chi practitioner, Jack took part in the movie to promote this traditional Chinese martial art as well as the positive philosophy it embodies. He believes the spiritual and physical benefits of tai chi should be shared across the world.”
The short film Gongshoudao featuring Jack Ma will comprise of 20 minutes and the premier is set to release on November 11.
Alibaba Group has made enormous sales over the past few years especially on Singles’ Day an alternative for Black Friday and Cyber Monday in China. Alibaba made $18.2 billion sales on Singles’ Day last year. Jack Ma has become the 2nd richest man in China with a net worth of $28.3 billion.
