Now Alexa can recognize voices of multiple users

AI-powered speaker Google Home has introduced several features and after Google, its rival Alexa is now capable of recognizing multiple voices and giving personalized answers.

If you’re sharing an Amazon Echo speaker with your mates, this new update to Alexa should make your life a bit easier. From this day, Amazon’s AI assistant will be able to differentiate between multiple voices and provide personally tailored responses.

How to use?

All you need to do is to go to the app settings. Click on your Voice. Now teach Alexa your voice by reading 10 phrases loudly.

The company explains that your data will be stored in the cloud, so it can be easily accessed to work across the Echo devices and almost all third-party Alexa enabled devices.

Currently available features:

Voice profiles will allow Alexa to tailor the information that it gives you. Interestingly, voice recognition is very efficient, it means when you will say “Call mom”, it will call your mom, not your friend’s.

This new feature by Amazon is currently available for messaging, calling, flash briefing, shopping and enjoying the Unlimited Amazon Music and soon this update will cover all features.

As of now, voice recognition is rolling out to Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show devices.

It must be noted that this feature is already present in Google Home from April, and with this update in Alexa, it looks like the rivalry between both giants is going to be continued for a long while.
