AirPods 2 to wirelessly charge in 15 minutes, Dark Mode to debut in iOS 13.1

According to a recent tweet by Twitter leaker Max Weinbach, the AirPods 2 will be wirelessly charged in just 15 minutes, new iPhones might work underwater while the upcoming iOS might get a full system-wide dark mode. The leak was featured on YouTube’s most famous Apple Products page EverythigApplePro.

Dark Mode in iOS 13.1

The highly anticipated Dark mode is already available on the MacOS platform via the new MacOS Mojave version. However, there were many rumors that suggested that the dark mode is also coming to the iOS 13. ‘EverythingApplePro’ confirms this rumors but according to him the new Dark mode will come in the iOS 13.1 instead of iOS 13 owing to internal (a huge overhaul of the current iOS) issues.

The next-generation AirPods (AirPods 2) are expected to have a new ‘rapid charge’ feature which will incorporate extremely fast wireless charging from 0 to 100% in only fifteen minutes. This will be made possible by the new AirPods case which will wirelessly charge the AirPods, however, this development will cause the case to be thicker and heavier than before which is due to the integration of Qi coil. Furthermore, the news AirPods are also expected to have a new texture similar to the matt-rubberized texture on the Apple Pencil 2.

iPhone to work underwater

Current iPhones are IP-68 certified, which means they are water resistant, however, if a water drop is splashed on the screen then the touch starts to misbehave. In order to combat, Apple is working on a new hardware feature that will enable the iPhone touch to work when completely immersed under water, meaning Apple is now working on a display which can recognize the user’s skin under water. This would essentially make the iPhones much easy to use in rainy weather.

New Taptic engine

Apple compared to its competition has always had a superior taptic engine, many Android manufacturers over the years have tried to improve their flagship’s vibration motors but none have close to Apple’s Haptic feedback mechanism in the iPhone. Well, there is more good news for the Apple fans, according to the ‘EverythingApplePro’, Apple is now working on the next generation of taptic engine. The new taptic engine is being described as ‘taptic engine directional precision’.

This will enable add an extra layer of depth to the iPhone screen. In simple words, the iPhone screen will be split in a 9 grid layout and wherever the user clicks on the screen, the user will feel a direct centralized haptic feedback in that area. Currently, it’s just a generalized feeling on the screen, there is no particular tactile feedback on the screen.
