All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), Sindh has collaborated with Imperial Consulting Inc, a UK-based educational consulting firm, to launch an online educational portal, Akadimis, on Wednesday.
The comprehensive educational portal has been devised to impart the dire need soft skills to students. The students from any level between Kindergarten to the Intermediate will not only be getting quality education but will also be provided awareness on improving soft skills.
The venture will follow a three-step model, ‘learn’, ‘practice’, and ‘test’. The ‘learn’ section will have study material and coursework aid. The learn section will contain necessary lectures, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations and videos for understanding and learning of a core concept. After the students would be done with the learning section, they further would be able to hone their skills via the practice section. The practice session will contain worksheets, assignments, and questions to challenge the concepts of students. The practice session will be followed by a test session. The test question will check the understanding of a student. All of the tests will be online and real-time.
“The portal is trying to flip the classroom system, where time is used for more effective learning”, the Imperial Consulting Inc Director Neha Syed has said. On uprooting the tuition culture, she said “Parents, who pay huge amounts in tuition fees, will save money”.
As we continue to witness the technological boom, the benefits which IT can render into our lives also becomes self-evident. Many projects which apply technology in the educational arena have already come forward. Learn Smart Pakistan is one such project. The Government is also working on a smart school project, which will transform existing schools into smart schools.
