The augmented-reality super popular game, which was released back in the summer of 2016, quickly became everyone’s obsession, and by the summer of 2018 Pokemon Go made $1.8 billion.
Pokemon Go players have been requesting for the PvP feature for a long time which allows players to compete against other trainers. The news of this new feature coming to Pokemon Go might once again surge the popularity of this game, Niantic has also given a first glimpse of the new feature.
The PvP mode will have three battle leagues:
- Great Battle League
- Ultra Battle League
- Master Battle League
The major difference between these leagues will be the cap on Pokemon CP (combat points) where the Great Battle League will have 1,500 cap points, Ultra League will have 2,500 cap points whereas Master Battle League will be uncapped. Players will be allowed only three Pokemon for the Trainer Battles, while Pokémon with high CP might be a big advantage in Master League battles, Trainers will have to think more strategically when battling in the Great and Ultra Leagues, where there are specific CP limitations.
Niantic has been teasing PvP mode for some time now but it seems the feature will finally arrive after two and a half years. However, there is still no exact date revealed for the arrival of PvP trainer battles, but if the recent tweets are any indication then is only a matter of time.
