The Tech Museum of Innovation has launched its Tech+Arts Incubator Grant that will award $50,000 to participatory digital art projects, produced in collaboration with Silicon Valley’s major innovative companies.
The incubator provides an opportunity for digital artists to connect with technology companies of the Silicon Valley and create transformative digital art experiences. The aim is to explore artistic applications of emerging technologies and extend it to an audience around the world.
Focus Areas
Interested candidates can submit proposals for any one of the focus area revolving around the following emerging technologies:
- Immersive Technology
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computer Graphics
- Adaptive Sound
The projects must take an innovative approach for a user-centered experience. The project may suggest models, methods or data that could interest artists, cultural organizations, and technologists. The incubator is also interested in art for social good projects that aim at tackling pressing social issues with the power of digital art.
Incentives
In addition to the grant, the incubator will also provide the following resources to the selected candidates:
- Partnership with technology companies
- Access to 2,500 square feet R&D gallery, and an office space
- Mentorship with industry experts and incubator staff
- Access to 135,000 square feet of exhibition space with a capacity to accommodate potential installments
- Access to fabrication space and shared equipment which includes 3D printers, laser cutters, cameras, VR stations, large-scale printers, graphics tablets, and similar tools

The selected candidates will get an opportunity to develop their potential projects with the following companies that include Adobe, Facebook, GIPHY, Mozilla, Dolby, Lightform, HTC VIVE, Zoom, Plantronics, RESONAI, and Rokid.
