Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica scandal is not going to get away anytime soon. The campaign #DeleteFacebook that was joined by co-founder WhatsApp and Elon Musk as well, is disclosing some shocking results. Facebook’s users in America have fallen out of love with Facebook in a huge number and the survey says that over 9% of them have already deleted their accounts.
The survey by Creative Strategies which appeared on Tech pinions has revealed that from the Facebook’s estimated 214 million users in the United States, 19.2 million deleted their account over the past few weeks alone. The survey was limited to study across 1000 Americans representing the US population in gender and age.
Meanwhile, 17% of respondents said they deleted the Facebook app from their phone over privacy concerns while other 35% said they reduced Facebook usage after privacy issue. However, there is certainly a difference between people who say they have deleted their Facebook and those who actually did it.
According to the report,
Privacy matters to our panelists. Thirty-six percent said they are very concerned about it and another 41% saying they are somewhat concerned. Their behavior on Facebook has somewhat changed due to their privacy concerns. Seventeen percent deleted their Facebook app from their phone, 11% deleted from other devices, and 9% deleted their account altogether.
Well, this will certainly not affect the tech giant as it has over 2 billion monthly users but it will have a significant impact on Facebook’s business model as other users are also not satisfied with Facebook’s privacy issues.
Well, if and only if, like those well aware Americans you have also fallen out of love with Facebook and have guts to press that button, have a look at this simple way of deleting your Facebook Account.
