More than 80 percent of teenagers own an iPhone, survey

Researchers conducting the bi-annual Taking Stock with Teens survey asked US teenagers, what they spend money on and which are their favourite brands. The survey respondents comprised of 6.000 teenagers with an average of 16.4 years. The survey results made it evident that iPhone is the preferred smartphone brand amongst teens.

The numbers indicate that 82 percent of the teenagers surveyed owned an iPhone. Moreover, 84 percent said their next phone would also be an iPhone. That’s one extreme brand loyalty! In the previous survey, 78 percent of the respondents owned an iPhone and 82 percent were planning to have an Apple phone as their next phone. This year’s results only show that the popularity graph of the Cupertino brand is only increasing.

The smartphone company should be cheering for this kind of brand loyalty. If the company continues to bring these teenagers in their efficient ecosystem, the young customers may just find it very difficult to switch it to another smartphone brand. Recently, Apple launched a new color of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus variants. Just last quarter, the company also sold over 8 million Apple Watches.
