Apple has stopped selling 256GB iPhone 7 to boost iPhone 8 sales

iPhone 8 and 8 plus

Apple is facing some serious troubles with its iPhone 8. Analysts believe that all these problems started only because of a strategic mistake of announcing iPhone X and iPhone 8 at the same time. Reports have unveiled that people are preferring iPhone 7 over iPhone 8.

Apple is struggling hard to increase sales of iPhone 8 and the following could be their last option of sacrificing an older version of iPhone to push buyers into buying iPhone 8. Apple has decided to stop selling a 256GB variant of iPhone 7.

Both iPhone 7 and 7 Plus received a price cut after the launch of the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus, thus leading to increased sales. Wireless charging, which has been added by Apple as the main feature of the iPhone 8, has clearly not convinced the majority to buy iPhone 8.

As we reported earlier, iPhone X units might not be sufficient for the first weekend sales, as the demand for iPhone X is going to be much greater than iPhone 8. iPhone X has unique features like Face ID and super retina screen which are impacting users to wait for it and avoid buying iPhone 8.

While comparing iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 via Google trends you can easily observe the minimal difference of search of these devices. The older model is still beating out the newer version.

Apple knows where the actual problem lies. By discontinuing the sale of the most popular variant of the iPhone 7, Apple is trying its last attempt to make the iPhone 8 popular before the iPhone X hits stores next month.
