Citizens of Sindh can breathe a sigh of relief as the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has set up a website to help Pakistani citizens to verify and get back snatched or stolen smartphones.
Set up as the link between the police and the citizens, the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has done a lot to bridge the gap between the two parties. This government branch has just launched two websites. One website helps verify and get back stolen or lost smartphone through their IMEI numbers. CPLC has a record of more than a million IMEI numbers all of which can be accessed through the website. The IMEI numbers have been collected over the last ten years and have either been blocked or put under observation by the authorities.
According to the same website, many people who lost their mobile devices have had their devices returned to them through the authorities.
The other website helps citizens in identifying the unclaimed bodies. To find information on the unclaimed bodies, the CPLC will require citizens to visit be web address shanakht.cplc.org.pk for further details on the bodies.
The launch of this website had been a collaboration between the CPLC and the National Database & Registration Authority, the CHIPA Welfare Association, and the EDHI Foundation. All the bodies involved in this launch will have a part to play in making sure it runs accordingly.
