Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge wins ‘Best Smartphone’ award at Global Mobile Awards

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been recognized by GSMA as the “Best Smartphone 2016” at Glomo (Global Mobile) Awards.

The Glomo Awards are happening at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has won the Best Smartphone award in the category of “Best Mobile Handsets and Devices”. The Galaxy S7 edge was awarded for its refined design, advanced camera and outstanding performance. Junho Park, Vice President of Global Product Strategy, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, said,

“We are honored to be recognized for our craftsmanship in design and innovation with the Galaxy S7 edge. This award is a testament to our constant pursuit of excellence as we continue to exceed consumers’ expectations through revolutionary mobile technology.”

Other nominations in the Best Smartphone category were: Apple for Apple iPhone 7 Plus, Google for Google Pixel XL, Huawei for Huawei P9 and Motorola for Moto Z. In 2015, Apple iPhone 6 and LG G3 won Best Smartphones award.

The GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards offer organizations across the global mobile ecosystem the opportunity to showcase the latest mobile products, apps, devices, services, and initiatives to the industry and the world. The Global Mobile Awards were first presented in 1996.

There are total 6 categories which further have sub-categories. Pakistan’s Jazzcash has been nominated in the category “Best Mobile Product, Application or Service for Women in Emerging Markets” and Telenor’s Easypay in the category “Best Mobile Payment Solution”.
