Facebook has quietly rolled out reporting a false news story, uploading videos in HD, easier notification browsing, downloading videos for offline viewing and selecting resolution options to its users.
Report false news
Facebook has been fighting fake news issues ever since the presidential elections 2016 because of misinformation, rumors and false stories. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg even cleared last month that Facebook has been doing everything it can to work on this problem. He said,
“The bottom line is: we take misinformation seriously. Our goal is to connect people with the stories they find most meaningful, and we know people want accurate information. We’ve been working on this problem for a long time and we take this responsibility seriously. We’ve made significant progress, but there is more work to be done.”
Now, when anyone reports a post and clicks “I don’t think it should be on Facebook”, an option “It’s a false news story” is given in the reasons, in addition to other already available options like it is annoying or distasteful, pornography, against my views, advocates violence or harm and other. Users are required to report any story they think is a hoax.
Upload videos in HD and resolution options
Another option Facebook has rolled out to its Android users is the long awaited ‘upload videos in HD’. It appears in the settings menu. Updated android devices will be able to avail this feature. iOS devices already have this feature for almost two years now.
Videos can also be downloaded for ‘Offline Viewing’. Another option for videos streaming ‘select playback quality’ will be made available. The resolution range will be 72p to 360p.

Other features
Other features expected to be introduced are ‘picture-in-picture’ option, which will require the users to give the “draw over other apps” permission to Facebook, similar to the chat heads. Also, up and down arrows have been added so that users can get an easy notification view.
Reporting false news and uploading videos in HD features have already been rolled out. Other features will be available sometime soon.
