Samsung Revives Rcs Support In Samsung Messages For Galaxy S25 Series

Samsung has reintroduced Rich Communication Services (RCS) support in its Samsung Messages app for the newly launched Galaxy S25 series, addressing concerns about the app’s future. This decision follows Samsung’s initiative to designate Google Messages as the default messaging application on its premier devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, specifically within the United States market.

When new Galaxy S25 users discover Google Messages as their default messaging program, they may still utilise Samsung Messages, which can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store to choose from a variety of texting alternatives. With RCS integration, Samsung Messages now offers read receipt notifications, typing status updates, and high-quality media transfers.

Samsung’s decision  to restore RCS support within Samsung Messages follows a period during which the company had sporadically diminished its messaging platform in recent years, especially subsequent to the designation of Google Messages as the primary application for Samsung devices in 2021. The original RCS capability was removed from smartphones after Samsung chose Google Messages to replace Samsung Messages as the default texting app for S series flagship handsets.

The update of Samsung Messages with RCS compatibility has elicited mixed comments from consumers who respect RCS, as well as misunderstanding among field experts. Reports indicate that Samsung Messages is now supporting RCS on T-Mobile and Verizon networks in the latest Galaxy S25 series, furthering the platform’s appeal for those seeking a more advanced messaging experience.
