The Gboard app for Android is reportedly getting an update from Google that will make it simpler for users to fix typos while typing. Gboard for Android has new undo and redo buttons in its most recent beta version, allowing users to undo and redo their adjustments until the text they want displays on the screen.
How to Use Undo and Redo on Gboard?
The new Undo and Redo feature, initially reported as being in development in July 2023, has now been made available in the Gboard for Android beta app (version 14.9.06.x). This feature allows users to find the Undo and Redo buttons as shortcuts in the recommendations tab at the top of the keyboard.
Google aims to improve typing accuracy by enabling users to restore accidentally erased text. Even when the keyboard is minimized within an app, the feature retains its memory. However, if the app is closed and reopened, the feature resets and the buttons become inactive. It is expected that the feature will be implemented systemwide, making it available wherever Gboard is set as the default keyboard.
Currently, the Undo and Redo functionality is accessible only to a select group of beta testers who enrolled via Google Play Beta. While not all beta-tested features make it to the public version, the presence of this feature on beta testers‘ devices indicates that it will likely be rolled out to all users in the near future.
Additional New Features in Gboard
This update expands upon last month’s Gboard integration with the Pixel Studio app. Now, users of the Pixel can make stickers with artificial intelligence right in the keyboard app. You may make them in the app’s My Projects library or in Gboard’s new Stickers menu.
With the addition of a connection with the Pixel Screenshots app, Gboard is now able to use the information acquired from screenshots to suggest movies, music, products, and other types of text.
