Lahores Bise Launches Online Degree Verification System With Qr Codes

Lahore: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore rolled out the new initiative to digitalize academic certificates, with all new QR codes for online verification.

All new QR codes are designed for online verification. The new initiative will guarantee that all certificates, ballot number papers, and result cards issued by the board are equipped with QR codes for effortless verification.

This step aims to tackle the issue of fake degrees and transcripts, utilizing QR codes as a dependable method for verification. Officials from the board stated that institutions that continue to require degree verification via the Higher Education Commission (HEC) are expected to adhere to the current procedures.

In a recent turn of events, the Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has been dismissed following a scandal involving altered 2024 intermediate exam results. Sharf Ali Shah, who serves as the Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), has taken on the role of acting Chairman for the BIEK.

The controversy was precipitated by the unexpectedly low scores received by a significant number of students, particularly those in the pre-engineering and pre-medical categories. This led to protests and calls for a review of the results.
