Meta Plans Display Upgrade For Ray Ban Smart Glasses By 2025

According to a report, Meta is preparing to release Ray-Ban smart glasses with an integrated display by 2025. These glasses, expected in the second half of the year, will allow users to receive notifications and interact with Meta’s AI.

This announcement comes as Google and Samsung push forward with Android XR, their extended reality platform, which includes smart glasses and a Samsung headset set to launch in 2025.

Meta previously unveiled its “Orion” smart glasses in September, featuring advanced display technology. However, the high cost of production has delayed commercialization. The upcoming Ray-Ban glasses are expected to incorporate a simpler display to balance functionality and affordability.

The updated Ray-Bans could be released as early as the second half of 2025, the people said. The small display would be likely to be used to show notifications or responses from Meta’s virtual assistant.

The competitive landscape for smart glasses is heating up, with Meta, Google, and Samsung vying to lead the market with innovative designs and integrated display technology.
