Meta’s WhatsApp is rolling out a new playback speed feature, allowing users to adjust video speed for a more tailored viewing experience. This update, currently available in the Android beta version 2.24.26.20, is being tested by a limited group of beta testers through the Google Play Store program.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature enables users to watch videos at varying speeds, enhancing content consumption efficiency. Some beta testers have already gained access to this feature, with wider availability expected soon.
To facilitate user experience during video viewing, the newly introduced playback speed control is strategically positioned adjacent to the video progress bar. This button enables users to swiftly change speeds without disrupting their viewing experience.
Additionally, users can select the playback speed that aligns with their preferences, as there are three levels of speed to choose from. These consist of standard, 1.5 times, and 2.0 times.
This feature is anticipated to greatly improve user convenience, especially for extended videos that could otherwise seem tedious to view at regular speed.
Users can make better use of their time while still enjoying the content by adjusting the playback speed. Moreover, it is perfectly suited for individuals with hectic routines who wish to consume content more swiftly while still capturing all the essential information.
