Schools in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan, and all Punjab districts will remain closed on December 16.
Details indicate that district magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon of Islamabad announced the closure of educational institutions in the capital city without giving a specific reason. As stated in the notice, all Islamabad educational institutions will be closed on December 16th.
Additionally, Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema of Rawalpindi issued a notice announcing the closure of all educational establishments in the district, whether public or private.
However, no specific reason was given for the delay in the tests that were supposed to happen on December 16. When asked about the shutdown, authorities from the Rawalpindi district administration cited the current state of law and order.
Deputy Commissioner of Lahore Syed Musa Raza stated that all public and private schools and colleges in the city had been closed. He made it clear that all universities will stay open.
“The holiday is being observed to pay tribute to the martyrs of the APS Peshawar tragedy and the fall of Dhaka. The sacrifices of APS martyrs will never be forgotten,” he said in a statement. “The tragedy of December 16, 2014, has left an indelible scar, and the loss of innocent children united the nation in strength,” he added.
The District administration of Sialkot also said that schools and colleges would be closed on December 16. The Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot officially announced the holiday in a notice, saying it was in remembrance of the victims of the APS tragedy.
