Punjabs New App Tracks The Locations Of School Teachers

LAHORE: To ensure that teachers are physically present in their classrooms, the Punjab Education Department has launched a smartphone app that tracks the location of school districts’ teachers.

Teachers will also be able to give feedback through the app. In addition, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of schools now have more power than before, allowing them to temporarily transfer teachers or adjust their profile.

According to an official from the Ministry of Education, the Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit oversaw the development of the new app.

Punjab's Govt School Teachers Can Now Apply for Transfer and Posting

As per the survey, Punjab has 105,178 educational institutions, of which 52,314 are public and 50,054 are private.

The new app allows school administrators to track absent teachers and identify “ghost teachers,” helping to reduce inefficiencies and ensure better use of resources in Punjab’s education system.
