The new WhatsApp feature allows users to easily add context or information when forwarding photos, texts, documents, or links.
Instant messaging provider WhatsApp, used by billions of people around the world, is introducing new features that make it easier to personalize forwarded messages. Users may now add a custom note to many types of information, including text, documents, and more. This feature is now available to a restricted group of beta testers.
A user no longer has to manually send a message after forwarding a document, picture, or text message, as is required by the existing technology (which only supports GIFs, videos, and images) due to the coming modification.
New Feature Compatibility
Recent data from WABetaInfo indicates that this feature is compatible with images, videos, documents, links, and text, however, it is currently only available in the WhatsApp beta for Android v2.24.25.3. If you wish to include some background information or context with the content you’re sending, this feature can be helpful. It also gets rid of the requirement to delete captions one by one.
Few beta testers now have the option to include a message when sending an existing image, as shown in the image above. If you want to send a new message with content that wasn’t forwarded, you can also use this function. It’s not just for forwarding messages or files.
This feature, which allows users to personalize forwarded messages, is already accessible to beta testers and will soon be available to everyone. A fresh feature called Voice Note Transcript was recently added to WhatsApp, allowing users to convert audio messages into text.
