7300 Teaching Interns Hired Across Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab government colleges have completed the recruitment of 7,354 teaching interns.

The Higher Education Internship Programme was reviewed at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Dr. Farrukh Naveed, the secretary of Punjab Higher Education, said that the interns will receive Rs50,000 per month for eight months. Until the academic session ends on March 31, they will be teaching at government colleges.

In an official statement, the chief minister praised the department for its open and transparent intern recruitment process, which he said was based on merit.

The participants were also informed during the briefing that 962 college instructors had their transfers and postings finalized via an electronic transfer process. Teachers got their orders after submitting their applications online.

The officials further stated that open and transparent criteria would be used to pick directors and principals of government colleges.
