Secp Raises Company Registration Fees In Pakistan

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has significantly increased the fees for business registration and document submissions under the Companies Act 2017. The goal of this reform is to simplify the application procedure, and it affects businesses in many different types.

Recent SECP Registration Fees

The SECP has recently issued a notice (SRO 1806(I)/2024) with these changes.

Service Previous Fee New Fee Submission Method
Electronic Submission (Corporations with up to Rs100,000 share capital) Rs1,100 Rs5,500 Electronic Submission
Manual Submission (Corporations with up to Rs100,000 share capital) Rs2,200 Rs10,000 Manual Submission
Reserving Company Name (Manual Submission) Rs500 Rs2,000 Manual Submission
Reserving Company Name (Electronic Submission) Rs200 Rs1,000 Electronic Submission

SECP Introduces Fees for Group Registration

According to the Companies Regulations 2024, rules 138 and 140, the SECP introduced new costs for registering group companies. Businesses will now be required to pay 100,000 for this category’s electronic and manual submissions combined.

The modifications also influence requests for confirmations, exemptions, or permissions from the SECP or registrar. Careful documentation is essential because a non-refundable processing fee is required.

Additionally, the registration process will become more expensive for startups and small firms as a result of these fee increases. The SECP, on the other hand, claims that the updates would make services better and more efficient.
