Karachi: Pakistan proudly presented its indigenously developed combat drone, the Shahpar III, at the IDEAS 2024 global defense exhibition in Karachi on Tuesday, 19th November 2024.
The Predator is a high-tech drone designed for modern battle operations. It is capable of mid-range flight and can travel vast aerial distances, with a flight time of approximately 30 hours.
It has enhanced its operational efficacy by assembling advanced armaments and systems.
With a maximum payload of 1650 kg, the Shahpar III is equipped with an advanced fly-by-wire system and handcrafted electronics.
Dr. Asad Kamal, the CEO of Global Industrial and Defense Solutions (GIDS), recognized the drone as a significant milestone, emphasizing that it represents three decades of dedicated effort.
The Shahpar-I and Shaheen-II models, which were previously introduced by the GIDS, were designed to improve the capabilities of Pakistan’s defense sector.
Consequently, the Shahpar II Block II is a MALE UAV that has been improved in terms of its combat capabilities. Innovative composite and metallic hybrid structures are integrated into its modular airframe, which also boasts superior aerodynamics.
A standalone takeoff and landing system, clear mission planning software, robust data links, respectable automation, and flexibility in accommodating a variety of electro-optical payloads are the key components of the Shahpar system.
