Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has begun the process of hiring a new CEO, as current CEO Amir Hayat’s tenure comes to an end.
Eligibility Criteria
For this position, the airline is looking for someone between the ages of 45 and 57 who has a minimum of 10 years of experience in the aviation business or 20 years of experience managing large organizations.
Interested applicants can submit their applications within 15 days of the advertisement being published.
At the same time, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari informed the press that the province government had no plans to acquire PIA, hence the Punjab government has reversed its earlier interest. She said in Lahore, “Mian Nawaz Sharif never indicated that Punjab would purchase PIA.”
On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is still set on bidding for the national carrier, even though the Blue World City consortium’s price was below expectations.
Gandapur clarified that his government is ready to offer more than the current Rs. 10 billion, because they are sure that KP has enough funds. In his statement, he highlighted that KP’s revenue has increased by 44%, demonstrating that the province is prepared to acquire PIA ownership.
