PlayStation gamers are currently facing a significant outage impacting Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) affecting PS4 consoles to the older PS3 models. Sony confirmed the problem on its website and actively working to resolve it, warning users of potential difficulties with games and apps.
Reports on Downdetector.com indicate that the outage began around 6:30 a.m. PST in various regions.
Sony acknowledged the same through the PSN Service Status page, warning that gamers are likely to experience difficulty when launching games, and applications or when accessing network services.
“You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” as mentioned on the Sony PSN status support page.
Most of the users are frustrated by the outage considering they come from long days at work only to find their PlayStation down.
Affected PlayStation Platform
The PlayStation status page has offered more details pointing out that several services are impacted, and these are account, gaming and social, and the PlayStation Store. The affected platforms are PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, and web services.
This has caused much annoyance with PlayStation players since this interruption affects several different aspects of PlayStation usage which includes account management, online gaming, and purchasing digital content. The problem has not been completely defined by Sony but its teams are working to fix it and they have not given a timeline for when they expect it to be solved.
